As a starting monomer for synthesizing Graphdiyne (GDY), HEB-TMS bears a structural similarity to GDY, consisting of both the carbon–carbon triple bond (sp^-) and the benzene ring (sp^2-). With its excellent nonlinear absorption (NLA) traits in the visible light spectrum, HEB-TMS promises great potential for use in optical limiting, protecting both human eyes and precision optical components in visible light.
