    Applications

Yttrium Fluoride (YF3) is a white rare earth salt. It is used for anti-reflective coating. It is also a source to make metallic yttrium and is an additive in ceramic and glass making. High purity grade YF3 is the most important materials for tri-bands Rare Earth phosphors, which are very effective microwave filters. Other applications include luminescent bio-imaging probes, environment protection catalysts, mischmetal, polishing powders, Rare Earth fertilizers, arc lamp carbon electrodes, etc.
