40 mm X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF) Pellet Pressing Die Set
40 mm X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF) Pellet Pressing Die Set
This pressing die set is commonly used for X-Ray Fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) pellet preparation. The die is made from high quality, high hardness steel, which ensures a successful compression of both ceramic and metal powders into pellet form.
For XRF measurements, compared with loose powder, pressed pellet samples show a higher signal-noise ratio which allows the detection of the lightest elements. Commonly, 20% (total weight) of boric acid powder is mixed with samples to make a good pellet. Spectroscopic grade is recommended for the best quality pellet.
In order to grind the desired materials into the correct granularity of powder (from millimeters to microns), we recommend using either our powder processing ball milling products & accessories or our agate mortar & pestle sets.
