High Quality Aluminum (Al) Thin Films

MSE Supplies offers High Quality Aluminum (Al) Thin Films with a variety of thickness and substrates. We use 99.999% pure Aluminum in our coating process, and coat only those substrates that are stable under high vacuum. This eliminates concerns about contamination from previous coating runs.

Aluminum is one of the most widely used metals. It is light weight, a good conductor of heat and electricity, and has high reflectivity. It is often used for reflective optical components in telescopes, headlamps and LEDs. A thin surface layer of oxide forms at the air interface of the aluminum film, which protects the metal against corrosion.

In research and development, aluminum thin films find use in the following applications:
