Applications:

Hafnium dioxide (HfO2) is a material with a number of technologically attractive properties such as high melting point, high dielectric constant, high chemical stability, a wide band gap, and high neutron absorption cross section. HfO2 nanoparticles are becoming favorable materials for biological (biosensing, biotransportation, and radiosensitisation), catalytic, fuel cell (high-temperature electrolytes and fillers), sensing, scintillating and laser mirror applications.
