MSE PRO™ FeCoNiCr Medium Entropy Alloy Powder for Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing)

Medium entropy alloys (MEAs) are defined as alloys that have three to five principal elements and the concentration of each element is between 5 and 35 at.%. Due to the high mixing entropy and slowed cooperative diffusion, this alloy powder will generally yield the formation of simple solid-solutions during solidification as opposed to intermetallic compounds and other complex phases. Extensive research has been carried out on numerous HEAs and MEAs, and many attractive properties have been achieved, such as high hardness and strength, high fatigue resistance and fracture toughness, high-temperature oxidation resistance, high corrosion resistance, and many other unique electrical and magnetic properties. These promising properties offer potential applications in various fields, including  tools, molds, dies, diffusion barriers, and soft magnetic films.

Many elements can be used to make MEAs. MSE Supplies provides five most commonly investigated HEAs and MEAs powders as standard products:

  • FeCoNiCrMo
  • FeCoNiCrMn
  • FeCoNiCrAl
  • FeCoNiCrTi
  • FeCoNiCr
