    Applications

Europium (Eu) is a rare earth element that belongs to the lanthanide series. It is the most reactive lanthanide by far, having to be stored under an inert fluid for protection. It is used as a dopant in laser crystals, as a red phosphor in fluorescent glass, and as a neutron capturer.
