Applications

This transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDs) is a single-layer material with exceptional electrical and optical properties, making it highly valuable in various applications such as optoelectronic devices and nanoelectromechanical systems. It also has potential uses in hydrogen storage, catalysis, transistors, lubrication, lithium batteries, and solar cells as an adsorption layer.

Monolayer tungsten disulfide (WS2) is a two-dimensional direct band gap semiconductor with unique mechanical, electronic, optical, and chemical properties that can be utilized for novel nanoelectronics and optoelectronics devices.
