Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries, one of the most promising multivalent ion batteries, are particularly attractive for large-scale energy storage because of their high safety, environmental friendliness, abundant resources, and high theoretical energy densities. High purity Zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate Zn(OTf)2 or zinc triflate is the zinc salt of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. It is the most commonly used electrolyte salt for zinc ion batteries. It is also used as a Lewis acid catalyst in silylation reactions and greener amine synthesis.
