MSE PRO™ 2L Total Volume Autoclavable Fermenter
Lab-Scale Autoclavable Glass Fermenter features an advanced PLC-based control system with an intuitive HMI touch screen interface. It enables precise monitoring and regulation of key fermentation parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), temperature, antifoam, aeration, agitation etc. Operational data can be easily exported and saved in PC for comprehensive analysis and documentation.
Fermenter Vessel Specification:
- Total Volume – 2L
- Working Volume – 1.5L
- H/D Ratio – 2:1
- Material of Construction (MOC) – Borosilicate Glass with Torospherical Bottom and SS-316L Top Flange, Table Top, Autoclavable type suitable for microbial and cell culture fermentation.
- Top Flange/Plate Port - Made of SS-316L and having sensor ports for pH/DO/Antifoam/ Temperature along with Nozzles for Acid/ Base/Antifoam/ Air/ Sample Harvesting etc. and port for Inoculation and Exhaust Condenser. The top plate is having Lifting Handles for easy handling of Fermenter vessel.
- Condenser - Shell in Tube Type SS-316L Exhaust Condenser fitted on the top of the flange with 0.22 micron PTFE filter for outer gas and air filtration. Water inlet and outlet for circulation of cold water to maintain the reaction volume or cool down the vapors going out with exhaust gases.
- Baffles - Four Number Baffles provided for breaking the vortex for proper mixing. Baffles are removable type.
Controls and Instrumentation:
The system is equipped with a vibrant, multi-colored HMI touch screen control panel designed for user-friendly monitoring and precise control of key process parameters such as temperature, pH, agitation, etc.
- Agitation & Motor – Variable speed control within 50 to 900 RPM, control accuracy of ±1 RPM, Top Driven having servo motor.
- Impellers – SS-316L Rushton turbine Type 6 blades Impellers (RT6), 2 nos. Impeller Removable Type.
- Temperature Sensor - Pt. 100 RTD, Range: 0 to 1500C.
- Heating and cooling for Temperature Control - Inbuilt heating element in SS-316L housing for efficient temperature increase. Cooling SS coil provided for the circulation of chilled/cold water inside the vessel for lowering the temperature below ambient (Chilled water from External source required).
- Heating and cooling for Temperature Control (In case of Jacketed Fermenters) - Inbuilt heating element in SS 316L housing for efficient temperature increase. For Cooling chilled water is circulated through the vessels outer jacket ensuring uniform thermal regulation of the process media without direct contact. (Chilled water from External source required).
- Aeration Control/Air Flow Control - Aeration through Glass Metered Needle Valve and MFC. For 2L – Rotameter & MFC: 0 – 3 LPM.
- Sparger Type - Ring Type Air Sparger with fine pin holes provided towards bottom of the vessel for uniform distribution of Air/Gas.
- Inlet/Exhaust Filters - 0.22 micron absolute Hydrophobic PTFE/Autoclavable filter of PTFE.
- pH Measurement Measuring Range - 0 to 14, Control Accuracy: - ± 0.1 pH
- pH control - Automatic control with two Numbers Peristaltic Pumps for Addition of Acid/ Base/Antifoam. The pumps can also be run in Manual mode. The pH controlling system is complete with pH Probe, Transmitter and pH cable along with Dosing Bottles. The system is having Auto pH Calibration with 2 point or 3 points calibration i.e. either using 2 Buffers or 3 buffers or provided with Calibration option.
- Dissolved Oxygen Measurement & Control - Supplied with online DO2 probe/Sensor for real time monitoring of Dissolved Oxygen in the Fermenter vessel. Range: 0 to 100%.
- Foam Control - Fermenter will be supplied with Antifoam sensor which are conductivity based. On receiving signal from the PLC, Antifoam agent will be added in the vessel through peristaltic pump.
- Peristaltic Pumps - 4 Nos. peristaltic pumps for Acid/Base/Antifoam and feed addition.
- Accessories - System would be provided with 3 No. standard Borosilicate acid/base addition bottles (6 nos. in case of Twin Fermenters) with PTFE filters of 25 mm dia., silicone tubing-3x6 and 6x9mm of 5 meter each, SS clamps etc.
