Fischer SIGMASCOPE® SMP350 Measurement of Electrical Conductivity of Nonferrous Metals
Precision in Electrical Conductivity Measurement
SIGMASCOPE® SMP350 – Smart, Reliable, and Ready for the Field
The SIGMASCOPE® SMP350 is an advanced, handheld instrument engineered for precise, non-destructive measurement of electrical conductivity in non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper. Leveraging conductivity values, users can make informed assessments regarding the hardness, strength, and heat-treatment condition of materials. This enables accurate monitoring of structural integrity in components exposed to thermal cycling, as well as early detection of thermal damage or fatigue.
Utilizing the phase-sensitive eddy current method in accordance with DIN EN 2004-1 and ASTM E1004, the SMP350 enables contact-free measurements, even through non-conductive coatings such as paint or plastic up to 500 µm thick. This technique also reduces the impact of surface roughness on measurement accuracy.
