The SIGMASCOPE® SMP350 is an advanced, handheld instrument engineered for precise, non-destructive measurement of electrical conductivity in non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper. Leveraging conductivity values, users can make informed assessments regarding the hardness, strength, and heat-treatment condition of materials. This enables accurate monitoring of structural integrity in components exposed to thermal cycling, as well as early detection of thermal damage or fatigue.

Utilizing the phase-sensitive eddy current method in accordance with DIN EN 2004-1 and ASTM E1004, the SMP350 enables contact-free measurements, even through non-conductive coatings such as paint or plastic up to 500 µm thick. This technique also reduces the impact of surface roughness on measurement accuracy.

Key Features

  • Rapid, non-destructive testing of non-ferromagnetic metals in compliance with international standards (DIN EN 2004-1 and ASTM E1004)
  • Operates on a Windows® CE platform with a high-resolution touchscreen and intuitive virtual keypad
  • Customizable user interface with step-by-step calibration guidance
  • Large internal memory capable of storing thousands of applications and individual measurement data points
  • Broad selection of conductivity probes to support diverse measurement tasks
  • Measurement frequencies ranging from 15 kHz to 1 MHz, depending on the probe used
  • Comprehensive data visualization including specification limit graphs, advanced statistical analysis, Cp/Cpk calculations, histograms, and full date/time-stamped records
  • Automatic temperature compensation via integrated or external sensors ensures consistent accuracy
  • Built-in curvature correction for precise readings on curved surfaces (up to 6 mm diameter)
  • Supplied with traceable calibration standards (MS/m and %IACS) for regulatory compliance
  • Acoustic indicators for measurement capture and specification threshold alerts

Ideal for a Range of Applications

  • Aerospace and aviation component inspection
  • Quality assurance in coin and minting industries
  • Evaluation of thermally sprayed, non-ferrous metal coatings (e.g., copper)
  • Inline process control in aluminum and copper manufacturing
  • Pre-anodizing conductivity verification for aluminum parts

SIGMASCOPE® SMP350 combines field-ready portability with laboratory-grade precision, delivering unmatched reliability for professionals in quality control, manufacturing, and research environments.
