Yttrium Lithium Fluoride (YLF) Laser Crystal crystallizes are in the tetragonal I41/a space group. YLF has several superior properties including high transparency, birefringent (eliminates thermally induced depolarization loss), no absorption loss of sensitized ions, etc. By doping with different materials, the YLF laser crystal can present different properties that can be used for different applications. It is widely used for laser applications, medical diagnosis and treatment, electro-optical countermeasure, material processing, etc.
