    Applications 

    Lanthanum Carbonate La2(CO3)3 is a white rare earth salt. It is used as a starting material in lanthanum chemistry to make lanthanum strontium manganite, La2-xSrxCuO2, etc. The applications include solid oxide fuel cell, high-temperature superconductors, for treating hyperphosphatemia in medicine, for the tinting of glass, for water treatment, and as a catalyst for hydrocarbon cracking.
