Applications

Lanthanum Carbonate La₂(CO₃)₃ is a white rare earth salt. It is used as a starting material in lanthanum chemistry to make lanthanum strontium manganite, La_2-xSr_xCuO_2,etc. The applications include solid oxide fuel cell, high-temperature superconductors, for treating hyperphosphatemia in medicine, for the tinting of glass, for water treatment, and as a catalyst for hydrocarbon cracking.
