MSE PRO™ IN738LC Inconel 738 Nickel Based Metal Powder for Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing)
IN738LC (also commonly known as Inconel 738) powder is based on the nickel-based superalloy IN738LC. Its formulation focuses on providing exceptional high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and creep resistance, making it ideal for demanding applications in extreme environments. Designed for AM techniques such as selective laser melting (SLM) and direct metal laser sintering (DMLS), IN738LC powder enables the production of complex and high-performance components. The composition of the powder, which includes nickel, chromium, cobalt, and other alloying elements, ensures excellent mechanical properties and superior resistance to corrosion and oxidation at elevated temperatures.
IN738LC is more suitable than Hastelloy X to used in gas turbine engine components, such as turbine blades and vanes, where high-temperature strength and creep resistance are crucial. It finds extensive use in industries such as aerospace, power generation, where components must endure extreme conditions. By harnessing the advantages of AM, IN738LC powder allows for the creation of intricate geometries with precise repeatability, providing design flexibility, and optimizing production efficiency.
