Dove prism is a basic optical element in the shape of the right angle prism with the top got cut off. It can be used to rotate, invert, or retroreflect images, depending on which surface and the position on the surface that the incident light comes into. It is better to use collimate light instead of converging light when using a dove prism since it will introduce astigmatism.
