These zirconium crucible covers can be used to avoid split of liquid chemicals or create a low oxygen environment during calcination.

Zirconium crucible has high melting point of 1855°C (3371°F) and excellent corrosion resistance to alkalis, acids, salt water and other agents (except hot concentrated acid). Zirconium crucible is often used as a cost-effective replacement to conventional platinum labware due to their similar thermochemical properties. Zirconium crucible is widely used for high temperature applications such as metal and salt melting. It is ideal for highly-corrosive fusion processes (lithium and sodium salt fusions) in analytical chemistry and chemical processing.
