How Laser Diffraction Analysis Works?
Laser diffraction analysis is a technology to quickly measure geometrical dimensions of a particle with size of several nanometers to millimeters by using a laser beam passing through a suspension of particles. It is based on the Fraunhofer diffraction theory, which states that more light is scattered by smaller particles to a larger angle than by larger particles. Sample suspension is placed between the laser light source and detectors. By measuring the scattered light intensity at different locations, it can tell the particles size distribution in the sample.
