U.S.News best materials engineering programs ranking 2018, 2017, 2016
US News & World Report just publishes its 2018 ranking of the best graduate schools and programs in the U.S. (ranked in 2017).  Among the materials engineering programs, what are the changes from the 2016 to 2018 rankings? MSE Supplies (www.msesupplies.com) has compiled the ranking data in the most recent 3 years and noticed some interesting movement of ranking spots of some schools.
  • Among the top 10 schools, CalTech has advanced the most on the rankings over the last 3 years, jumping from No. 8 to No. 5.
  • University of Washington and Drexel University also showed positive movement in ranking.  Both schools moved up 6 spots from the 2016 ranking to the 2018 ranking.
  • On the flip side, among the top 50 programs, USC had the biggest drop in ranking from #33 to #43 in just 3 years.  The other three schools that have lower ranking spots are UT Austin, Case Western Reserve University and UC Davis, all of which have their current ranking 7 spots lower compared to 3 years ago.
