    Applications 

    Lanthanum Nitrate Hexahydrate (La(NO3)3 · 6H2O) is a colorless rare earth salt. It is used as catalyst in many organic transformations such as deprotection of acetonides, chemoselective preparation of cyclic and acyclic dithioacetals and petroleum refining. It is used as additives in glass, optical fibers, ceramics and metallurgy. It is an important starting material for other lanthanum products such as  lanthanum oxide, LaMnO3, La2O2S, lanthanum nitrate alkoxide, lanthanum aluminate (LAO) thin films, LaF3 nanocrystals lanthanum-tungsten, lanthanum-molybdenum cathode materials.
