Ultrasonic Localization Systems (UMS) Analytical Service

Overview

The Ultrasonic Localization Systems (UMS) uses ultrasonic echo analysis to nondestructively characterize the mechanical properties of various materials. Compared to traditional tensile and compression testing with conventional testing machines, the UMS offers simpler sample preparation, easier operation, higher measurement accuracy, and does not damage the sample. The measured results include:

• Longitudinal wave velocity and transverse wave velocity
• Young's modulus
• Bulk modulus
• Shear modulus
• Poisson's ratio
• Attenuation coefficient

The UMS features a unique local gain amplification function, enabling easy measurement of high-attenuation materials such as coarse-grained or powder-metallurgy materials.

Sample Requirements: 

The contact surface must be larger than 3mm, with two parallel surfaces. Density information must be provided.
