Topoisomerase I inhibitor

Functions

Camptothecin is a natural product isolated from Camptotheca acuminate. It is an inhibitor of DNA topoisomerase I and binds irreversibly to the topoisomerase I /DNA complex preventing DNA re-ligation and generating permanent double strand breaks. Induces apoptosis in a variety of cell lines and is a potent antitumor agent.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 5 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
