PLA2 inhibitor
Functions
Phytochemical that acts as an anti-inflammatory and phospholipase A2 (PLA2) inhibitor (IC50 = 40 µM in human neutrophils). Its mutagenic properties cause tumorigenesis and kidney damage in rodent models and in humans. Induces NF-κB, TGF-β, and oxidative stress in mouse kidney, and mitochondrial apoptosis in rat liver.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 30 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
