MSE PRO™ Multiple Order Waveplates have a wide range of applications, as they are made from quartz crystals and offer both λ/2 and λ/4 retardance options. The thickness of a multiple order wave plate is equal to multiple full-wave thicknesses plus a desired delay thickness. These waveplates are perfect for applications with a wavelength deviation of less than +/- 1% from the design wavelength. Compared with zero order waveplates, multiple order plates are relatively easy to manufacture, which is popular among lab researchers.
