    Applications 

    Hafnium diboride (or Hafnium Boride, HfB2) is a Ultra-high-temperature ceramic (UHTC) with a melting temperature of 3250°C. It has been used as oxidization protection systems under extreme conditions. It can be refractory and tribological ceramic coatings due to its high thermal and electrical conductivities. Moreover, HfB2 has also utilized as nuclear reactor control rod due to Boron element.
