Toll-like receptor 7/8 agonist; Immunostimulant

Functions

A Toll-like receptor 7/8 agonist. May be used as an immune adjuvant in cancer vaccines. Resiquimod-carrying synthetic vaccine particles augment the immune response to encapsulated antigen and exhibit strong local immune activation without inducing systemic cytokine release. Topical treatment of wild-type mice induces systemic autoimmune disease which may be used as a model of systemic Lupus erythematosus. Effect on stem cells depends on cell type5,6.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 30 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 15 mg/ml with warming), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or Ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
