Applications

Potassium channel opener

Functions

Activates ATP-dependent potassium channels. Induces vascular relaxation and antihypertensive effects.  Prevents the loss of mitochondrial inner membrane potential, protecting cerebellar granule neurons from apoptosis induced by oxidative stress. Displays protective effects in Parkinson’s disease models and cerebral ischemia-reperfusion.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 25 mg/ml with warming) or in Ethanol (up to 25 mg/ml with warming), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
