Applications
Actin polymerization inhibitor
Functions
Reversibly inhibits actin polymerization, microfilament organization and microfilament-mediated processes. Significantly more potent than cytochalasins in disruption of microfilament-mediated processes. Active in cell culture. Effective doses for latrunculin B vary depending on cell type but are frequently in the low µM range. Latrunculin B is slowly inactivated by fetal bovine serum.
