Functions
An emetic toxin produced by Bacillus cereus. Acts as an ionophore whith high selectivity for K+. Stimulates swelling and respiration in rat liver mitochondria. It is a lipophilic cyclopeptide and is rapidly absorbed in the gut and transported into the bloodstream. The causative agent in various forms of gastroenteritic disease associated with food poisoning.

Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO or Ethanol, then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
