Applications
p38a MAP kinase inhibitor
Functions
A potent and selective inhibitor of p38 MAP kinases, p38α MAPK and p38β (KD = 3.7 and 17 nM respectively). Inhibits IL-6, IL-1β and TNFα production in LPS-primed blood. Inhibits p38 in platelets stimulated by thrombin, collagen or thromboxane agonist U-46619 at 1 μM. Provides only modest clinical efficacy in rheumatoid arthritis. Delays platelet lesions and leads to better maintenance of stored platelets.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 40 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 2 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
