Functions
A steroidal alkaloid. Voltage-gated Na+ channel activator. May be used to increase Na+ concentration in cardiomyocytes and in cultured sympathetic neurons3. Toxic: LD50=1.35 mg/Kg (mouse i.p.)
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 25 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
