Extracellular calcium sponge
Functions
BAPTA is a selective extracellular Ca2+ chelator. It is a widely used calcium sponge for chelating Ca2+outside of intact cells. It’s a useful tool to probe the involvement of extracellular Ca2+ in cellular signaling. Non-cell-permeable.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 20 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
