Functions

Macrolide antibiotic derived from Streptomyces griseus that is a potent and selective inhibitor of vacuolar H+-ATPases (IC50 = 0.6 – 1.5 nM). Inhibits autophagy via disruption of fusion between autophagosomes and lysosomes.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 5 mg/ml, with warming), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
