Description: Interleukin-2 receptor alpha (IL-2Rα) is a 55 kDa ligand-binding subunit of the interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2R) complex. This receptor is constitutively expressed at high levels on regulatory T (Treg) cells and at lower levels on natural killer (NK) cells and resting effector CD8+ T cells. IL-2Rα is also expressed in early thymocytes during T-cell development. It plays critical roles in lymphocyte differentiation, activation, and proliferation.
