Description: CD19 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed on various stages of B cell development including early pro-B cells, late pro-B cells, memory B cells, plasmablasts, and some plasma cells. Aberrant CD19 signaling is linked to B cell malignancies, autoimmunity, and immunodeficiency. CD19 is also a target for chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapies used in treating B cell malignancies.
