Description: Integrin α5β1 consists of a α5 and a β1 integrin subunit and is a major cell surface adhesion molecule that mediates cell adhesion and initiates signaling pathways regulating cell spreading, migration, differentiation, and proliferation. Integrin α5β1 is one of the major integrin receptors in human hepatocytes. However, its expression is decreased in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells.
