Precisionary Compresstome® VF-510-0Z Vibrating Microtome (Tissue Slicer)

The Compresstome® VF-510-0Z is a vibrating microtome for cutting tissue slices, similar to cryostats and vibratomes. This model comes with Auto Zero-Z technology, which removes Z-axis deflection by calibration during the manufacturing process. This means you never have to calibrate the slicer, and there is no shearing of tissue surfaces during sectioning! The VF-510-0Z can section both fixed and live tissues, is fully automated with an ability to cut slices in 1 µm increments.

Precisionary VF-510-0Z Compresstome® tissue slicer is a top of the line vibrating microtome that can be used for all of your live or fixed tissue sectioning needs.

  • Great for live AND fixed tissues.
  • Consistent, high quality slices
  • Highly viable cells.

Key Features of the VF-510-0Z Vibratome

  • Durable: Equipped with a powerful, cordless motor for quiet and durable operation.
  • Compact design: A fraction of the size of a legacy Vibratome, the Compresstome can easily fit into a hood, and takes much less space on your bench.
  • Fast loading of cutting samples: Our one-touch unlocking mechanism on the sliding control box allows for rapid sample loading.
  • User-friendly controls: Fully integrated control box has intuitive control parameters for controlling tissue sectioning.
  • Increased lifespan of microtome: Built-in see-through cover protects oscillating parts from aerosolized buffer solution.
  • Compatible with multiple blade types: New magnetic blade holder allows for easy magnetic attachment of stainless steel blades, or glue-on attachment of ceramic and tungsten blades.
  • Easy to clean: Removable buffer tray and tube base allow for easy cleaning and changing tube sizes.

The VF-510-0Z Excels Where Legacy Vibratomes Fall Short

At Precisionary, we know what gets in the way of your science. That’s why we offer industry-leading, reliable workhorse vibratomes backed by responsive expert support.

Consistent Cell Viability
In a legacy vibratome, tissues are not well supported when slicing, causing the sample to be pushed and squished, which can lead to damaged cells and altered tissue architecture. The VF-510-0Z’s fast slicing technique preserves cell viability, making it ideal for live tissue experiments like ephys, ensuring cells remain functional and intact.

Service & Maintenance
For many instrument manufacturers, vibratomes are just another product line. At Precisionary, tissue sectioning is our main focus. Our scientists and technical engineers are always available to answer your questions or assist you in troubleshooting to achieve your desired results.

Product Reliability
Traditional manufacturers typically offer a 1-year warranty and optional service plans. Backed by a 5-year warranty, the VF-510-0Z offers long-term reliability, giving users peace of mind that the product is built to last.
