5 mm Round Bottom Quartz Cuvette with Lid, 1.7 ml, for UV-Vis Spectroscopy

This 5 mm round bottom quartz cuvette has a round bottom that is easier to empty, rinse and clean completely between samples. It holds 1.7 ml in a 10 mm wide chamber with 2 polished windows. The MSE PRO cell is made from ES quartz glass.

A 1.7 ml fill sits between micro and full-size cells, a practical middle ground for routine UV-Vis measurements when sample is limited.

The PTFE (Teflon) lid keeps dust out and slows evaporation between readings.

ES quartz transmits from the deep UV at 190 nm through the visible range to 2,500 nm in the near infrared. That covers UV work such as nucleic acid readings at 260 nm and protein readings at 280 nm, as well as visible and NIR measurements.

The 5 mm path length gives about 0.5 times the absorbance of a standard 10 mm cell, which keeps concentrated or strongly absorbing samples within the readable range of the instrument.

Outer dimensions are 45 x 12.5 x 7.5mm (H x W x D). Check that your spectrophotometer's cell holder accepts this footprint before ordering.

The cell is made by temperature fusion. Other sizes and custom inside widths are available on request.
