10g Sulfur-Carbon Composite Cathode Material For High Performance Lithium-Sulfur Batteries

Rechargeable lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries have recently become one of the most promising energy storage systems thanks to the low-cost and high-specific energy of sulfur cathodes. The practical application of Li-S battery is still limited by many material challenges, including dissolution of intermediate lithium polysulfides (Li2Sxx>3) in the electrolyte, large volumetric expansion (80%) of sulfur upon lithiation, and poor electronic/ionic conductivity of sulfur and lithium sulfide (Li2S).

MSE Supplies offers a sulfur-carbon composite cathode material for lithium-sulfur batteries. It can deliver a initial capacity of 1180 mAh/g at 0.1C.  This sulfur-carbon cathode material can retain a charge/discharge capacity of 860 mAh/g after 100 cycles at 0.2C.
