The special spiral shape means Wilson helices are considerably lighter than Raschig rings (by a factor of approx. 1.5), and have a flexible form that offers far greater breaking resistance. Furthermore, the numerous coils produce an extremely large surface area. Wilson helices also demonstrate a better separating performance, as they are able to withstand larger loads at a plate height comparable to Raschig rings.
We produce these helices in sizes ranging from 2 mm to 30 mm, exclusively in borosilicate glass 3.3.
