Introduction
It is a polycrystalline metal in the form of a square plate that is commonly used as reactive electrodes or passive current collectors in electrochemistry.
Application Note
Plate electrodes find application in a broad range of electrochemical processes because of their high electrical conductivity and mechanical stability. There are also commonly used as current collectors for thin films characterization. After use the metal plate can be chemically cleaned and mechanically polished using micro-sized abrasives followed by sonication. The metal plates electrodes can be used repeatedly.
