PPARγ agonist
Functions
Prototypical TZD antidiabetic agent. Potent and selective PPARγ agonist (Kd=43 nM). Clinically useful antihyperglycemc agent. Induces a brown fat gene program in subcutaneous white adipose tissue via activation of the PRDM16 protein. Induces differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into adipocytes.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 50 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
