Jake Xu
Chemistry
Jake Xu earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Nanjing University and a PhD in Chemistry from Texas Tech University. Jake specializes in electrochemistry, hydrogen storage materials and optical spectroscopy. Jake’s work includes water electrolyzer design, hydrogen storage systems, battery material innovation and advanced spectro-electrochemical diagnostics, supporting technologies relevant to MSE Supplies’ core product offerings.
Matt McBride
Physiological Sciences
Matt McBride earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Physiological Sciences from the University of Arizona. Matt’s research is focused on the neuroendocrine system, specifically the impacts of feed additives on stress-response feedback loops. Matt conducted detailed analysis of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal axis and quantified CRH/VP, ACTH and cortisol levels in blood and currently supports MSE Supplies Life Sciences’ division.
Ryan Lin
Materials Science and Engineering
Ryan Lin earned his bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from South China Agricultural University and a graduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Columbia University. Ryan’s background includes polymer materials, recyclable material systems, thin-film technologies and advanced 3D-printing processes. Ryan’s work centers on sustainable materials design, polymer processing and emerging fabrication techniques aligned with MSE Supplies’ growing product portfolio.
Sophia Cui
Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering
Sophia Cui earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Sichuan University and a PhD in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from Tulane University. Sofia’s expertise includes nanomaterials development, advanced materials characterization, analytical methods, product development and technology commercialization. Sofia’s research spans carbon capture materials, semiconductor-related processes, catalysis, drug delivery systems and other areas aligned with MSE Supplies’ Analytical Services program.
