Antioxidant
Functions
Inhibits lipoxygenases (IC50=0.2, 30 and 30 µM for 5-, 12- and 15-LO respectively) selectively over cyclooxygenase (IC50=100 µM). Inhibits rat epidermal and hepatic microsomal cytochrome P-450 (ID50=40 µM).
Application Procedures
First dissolved in ethanol (50 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 week.
