Opioid receptor antagonist
Functions
Opioid antagonist. Very similar activity profile to naloxone however displays slower onset and longer duration of action. Antagonizes the effects of salvinorin (κ-agonist) as well as herkinorin (μ-agonist). Has been used as a therapeutic for treatment of alcohol dependence.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in Water (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in distilled water may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
