Description
N-Succinyl-Ala-Ala-Ala-p-nitroanilide (Suc-Ala-Ala-Ala-pNA) is a chromogenic substrate used in enzymatic assays to measure the activity of proteases. The substrate consists of a succinyl group attached to a tripeptide sequence of three alanine residues, followed by a p-nitroanilide group. The p-nitroanilide moiety releases p-nitroaniline upon cleavage by proteases, which can be quantitatively measured by its absorbance at 405 nm, allowing for the assessment of protease activity.
