Functions
A novel cholic acid analog which acts as a potent and selective FXR agonist (EC50= 99 nM). Displays anticholeretic activity in a rat model of cholestasis. Promotes adipocyte differentiation and regulates adipose cell function. Normalizes insulin sensitivity in a rabbit model of metabolic syndrome. A potentially new therapeutic agent for management of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and NASH. Displays therapeutic benefit in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis. Active in vivo.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 35 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
