PI3K inhibitor
Functions
Inhibits autophagy by blocking autophagosome formation via inhibition of type III phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases (PI-3K). Protects 1321N1 astrocytoma cells against pyocyanin and hydroxyphenazine-induced toxicity. Inhibition of autophagy by 3-MA leads to enhanced apoptosis induced by a variety of agents including celastrol, cisplatin and sorafenib in several different cell lines. Increases CHO cell monoclonal antibody output.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in Water (up to 5 mg/ml), or in DMSO (up to 3 mg/ml), or in DMF (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in water, DMSO or DMF may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
