Synchrotron Atomic Pair Distribution Function (PDF) Analytical Service

Synchrotron PDF uses high-energy hard X-rays to measure the wide-angle total scattering data of a sample, this technique is also known as total scattering analysis. It provides information on long-range atomic order as well as medium- and short-range structural details, such as short-range order/disorder, bond lengths, and local defects.

For Synchrotron PDF analysis of powdered samples, please prepare at least 20 mg, with 0.1 g or more being ideal. The particle size should be uniform (approximately 45 µm or passed through a 200-mesh sieve) and feel smooth to the touch, with a flour-like texture. For bulk samples, the dimensions should be 1-2 cm in length and width (generally not smaller than 1 cm) and a thickness of less than 5 mm.
