The Orchid Scientific Light & Dark Unit test is a behavior model used in neuroscience to assess anxiety-like behavior in rodents. Animals will naturally prefer the dark, enclosed compartment over the well-lit one. Researchers measure how much time an animal spends in each compartment, how many times it moves between them, and other behaviors, like exploration or immobility, to gauge their level of anxiety.
